The Canadian study permit

To study in Canada for more than six months you need a study permit. See the steps from admission to the permit.

An overview

A study permit lets you study at a designated learning institution (DLI). You first get admitted to the school, then apply for the permit.

IRCC checks that your purpose of study is genuine, that you can pay tuition and living costs, and that you have a clear path after you finish.
